Sheep and Wool Festival, Rhinebeck, NY

I am getting really excited about going to the Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY. I have heard nothing but good things about this event and I personally know a few teachers and vendors!

However I have to confess that I am also a little nervous because my last class was June 2010. This will be my only teaching event in 2011! We will have 4 days of classes and shopping and fun. My favorite thing is to be around people that love fibers and knitting. Nothing new, huh?

If you would like more information, please got to http://www.sheepandwool.com.

My classes will include Portuguese Style of Knitting Basics and Cables Portuguese Style. Hopefully I will see you there!

  1. Just to let you know that your Basics class on Sunday is already closed. I was able to sign myself up, but not my sister. She hasn’t decided yet whether she’ll sign up for a different class or whether she’ll use the time to shop the Rhinebeck Harvest Marketplace in downtown Rhinebeck in the morning. I didn’t sign up for your Cables class as Louise and I will only be in Rhinebeck on Sunday and I’d also like some time to shop at the festival (not that I really need any more yarn _ I already have my share of stash acumulated beyond my Life expectancy (S.A.B.L.E.) I came across an article today in one of the Portuguese newspapers we get from Portugal. It’s all about Rosarios 4, a yarn factory in Mira de Aire, Portugal (our deceased Dad’s hometown). They have a website (www.rosarios4.com) if you’re curious to check them out. Looking forward to meeting you at Rhinebeck.

  2. You will do just fine, Andrea! You are a marvel, and an excellent teacher! I live in Minnesota and am tied up with making pickles and caring for all my dogs but I sure wish that I could attend that festival! In my spare time, I will comb and spin yarn outside in the shade, and dream of one day owning my own sheep. And, I am knitting for my very first grandchild, due in January. 🙂 Best wishes to you! I enjoy your posts!

  3. I’m SO thankful that you are feeling better and I’m glad to see that you’re “back in the saddle again,” doing what you love! You will do JUST FINE!

Sorry I can’t make this festival. But, next time you teach in Ohio, PLEASE let me know!

    God Bless!

  5. I am so disappointed – I am registered for your Friday class but will be unable to make it due to newly cropped up professional obligations. The website has the class marked as full, but it’s also too late for me to get any refund from the festival. If anyone approaches you about getting into the class, by all means, please send them my way. I hope to be able to catch another one of your classes at some point!

    • Thank you Kristi for letting me know. I do have extra people asking about Sunday class (also full) but not for Friday yet. I am sure we are going to see each other in many fiber events to come. Whenever in Ohio, just email or call me.

  6. My wife died recently and left 15 plastic tubs of fine yarn along with many knitting books, needles etc. Anyone know who might be interested in having them?
