Hey Andrea!
I bought your 2 DVD set for my mom for Christmas. My parents were at my house this weekend so I made her open one of her presents (your DVDs of course). We LOVED your 2nd DVD as much as we did your 1st and your sock DVD.
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge with us!!

HI ANDREA I WAS SO HAAPY TO SEE YOUR VIDEO OF YOUR EUROPEAN STYLE KNITTING.
I WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE A VIDEO OF PORTUGESE CROCHETING. MY MOTHER BEFORE PASSING MADE US ALL BEAUTIFUL CROCHET BEDSPREDS AND TABLE CLOTHES–JUST SIMPLY GORGEOUS. I NEVER TOOK NOTICE WHEN I WAS YOUNG THAT HER TECHNIQUE WAS REVERSE OF THE WAY I CROCHET.—– I WISH I PAID MORE ATTENTION.
iF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THE TECHNIQUE OF CROCHETING FOR ME I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
YOUR VIDEO IS A LOST ART AND SHOULD BE SHRED .
THANK YOU

Any chance of your coming to NYC?

Dear Melissa,
I do not have any plans to teach in NYC yet, but I would love to come! Please tell your local yarn shop or knitting guild about the technique and maybe they could host me. Or, if you have 10 knitting friends that would like to have me, I am there!
Thanks for taking the time to let me know you like the DVD.

As a total 100% leftie, how would the Portugese method of knitting work for me? As a method it seems to be the answer to my prayers for ease and good tension, but I definitely am a 100% dedicated leftie. How will it work for me – and any other lefties?
Many thanks.

Thank you Marian! I appreciate your comment and I wish you would be with me every time I am going to teach a class and people say to me: but I am left handed, I don’t think it is going to work for me.
If you ever take my class or cross me on the road, come and introduce yourself. I would love to meet and talk to you.

Andrea, the DVD, book and pin got here to England yesterday – when the temperatures are too hot to do anything but watch the DVD and read the book. Roll on September!!!

Oh Andrea – if only. Now if you were teaching here in England (this New York City gal lives in midlands England) I’d be the first to sign up for any class you gave.

Hi Andrea,
I received my order today. The DVDs are great.
I understand that you will have a book out this year 2010. Will it be just patterns or will it have patterns and techniques?
I look forward to it being published. You can put me on the pre-order list.
Keep up the great work.

Hi Andrea,
Do you plan to have any toe-up patterns?
I’m a toe-up girl mainly because I hate grafting. I think I’d rather have a root canal done! I believe there are an awful lot of people who feel the same way.
Thanks,
Elaine

Dear Elaine,
I do not have a toe up sock, but the sock I teach you do not need to graft! I know you will like it!

I am self taught “english” style knitter but have arthritis in hands. I was going to try to learn the “continental” style but came across your website and watched a short video.
You make it look so very simple. Would it be easy for me to learn (I’m referring to an old saying”trying to teach an old dog new tricks).
It looks like such a relaxing way to knit and appears to knit faster than “english” style – or – “continental”.
Would just purchasing the book be enough to learn from or DVD be more helpful. I’m open for suggestions.
Thank you so much for any advice!

I just received your sock and Part 2 DVD. I have watched them both already and am so excited to learn. I am a lefty too and discovered that I could do this with either hand. I am also excited to try doing toe up socks and started a pair wondering if it would work. And it does! So far. I am not an experienced knitter but am learning. Watching the DVD’s helped me see how to do the toe up two at a time. I even started with the figure eight cast on to start. I did have to wrap my brain around it. Thanks so much.

Hi Andrea
Is there a way to develop a toe-up pattern please? The reason I knit socks toe-up is that many people in my family have gun boats instead of feet at the ends of their legs. My son wears a size 13 shoe! I never want to chance running out of yarn before I get to the toe so I start with the toe. I also knit both socks at once on a magic loop. Please work on a toe-up pattern for socks. If you like I can send you my basic toe-up pattern designed for western knitters.
Thanks
N.

I will work on a pattern. If you would like to send me yours for inspiration and a start point for me, I will appreciate it. Be aware you can knit any pattern Portuguese Style. Do you use the figure 8 cast on?

Andrea, I love your Portuguese style of knitting — it is so easy on the joints and more relaxing than the other types of knitting. I have gone through your first video, and although I need to practice more, I am about to order your book and second DVD as well as the sock DVD. I, too, would like a toe-up sock pattern. Have you developed one yet? I hope you will let me know when you do. I see that one commenter, Marji, figured out how to do it, but I’m not sure I am clever enough! Thanks for your contribution to my knitting enjoyment.

Thank you Susan! I am so glad you are happy knitting! You are not my first customer to ask me for toe up socks. I will have to write one and I will let you know on my new website that is coming. May I use your email as a testimonial? I will only use your last name.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I am accepting ideas for other dvds if you want to suggest one.
